Modifications of Quebec immigration applications for 2021

Fees for MIFI services are growing today by 1.26 per cent.

Effective January 1, 2021, Quebec is increasing its immigration processing fees.

These changes take place annually and are based on the annual change in the overall consumer price index for all products.

The following fee increases are effective in Quebec on January 1, 2021:

The fee has risen from $812 to $822 for principal applicants who are applying as professional workers;

The fee has risen from $176 to $174 for each family member accompanying the principal applicant;

The fees for validating or evaluating the impact of a permanent work offer on the Quebec labor market have risen from $202 to $205.

Fees for temporary staff and applications for international students have increased from $202 to $205.

Comparative tests have risen from $121 to $123 for studies outside Quebec.

The fees referred to above are related to the cost of processing a request to immigrate to Quebec. You may be expected to pay other fees linked to your file when you complete an immigration application, including, for example, the cost of supporting documentation, translations or language tests.

More modifications are coming early next year,

As part of the International Student Program (ISP) and the Quebec Experience Program (Programme de l’expérience québécoise or PEQ), Quebec has also recently announced improvements about the submission of application documents for foreign nationals. After that date, Quebec’s Ministry of Immigration will no longer allow paper applications.

Applications under the ISP would have to be submitted electronically by means of an online temporary selection application for studies.

Quebec also announced that for the three new permanent immigration pilot projects that will be launched in 2021, electronic delivery of documentation will be mandatory, namely:

Pilot schedule for orderlies;

Pilot program for employees in the sectors of artificial intelligence (AI), information technology (IT) and visual effects;

2021 admission goals in Quebec

Quebec has set a target of 27,500 to 29,300 new admissions, including a cap of 24,200 professional employees, for its economic immigration programs in 2021.

For its business immigration services, which include the Quebec Entrepreneur Program and the Self-Employed Program, the province also plans to receive a maximum of 4,300 admissions.
